Concert For Peace: 12 May 2002
Concert for Amnesty International
The Priory Centre, St. Mary's Church, Abergavenny

"In 2001 Amnesty International was the chosen charity of the Musicians Union and members were asked to put on an event to raise funds & help campaign for the release of Ngawang Choephel, a Tibetan musician who had been imprisoned for 18 years by the Chinese authorities - his crime? ... gathering material for a documentary about traditional Tibetian performing arts. This year Ngawang was released and Amnesty Intrenational continues its work to raise public awareness of human rights issues so I am grateful to you for helping me to try to make a difference"
